Few of My Favorite Things

How does that song go?? 

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens

Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens

Brown paper packages tied up with strings

These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites, when the bee stings

When I'm feeling sad

I simply remember my favorite things

And then I don't feel so bad

These are a few of my favorite things. Yes.. these few moments, memories. These simple times in which God has blessed me with. The beautiful people, moments, times that God has placed in my life. So many gifts! So much to be grateful for. So many favorite things. And yes... these simple times, simple moments... This is what Life is all about! When the world seems to be working toward who can make more money, who can get promoted higher in their job. When there is so much scariness in the election that is only three weeks away. When social media makes everyone's lives look so perfect, but yet we all know... no one's life is perfect. There is no such thing, but yet we get sucked into it. Those feelings of jealousy, selfishness, comparison come. When we feel overwhelmed with all the demands of life. It's these simple moments in which I hang onto. They are what reminds me that there is goodness in our world. That we aren't surrounded by evil always. No-- Goodness is everywhere, and it can continue with us! In a book I'm reading, St. Faustina says Jesus told her... "Practice at least one act of love of neighbor each day." I can do that... Yes. I can. Give oneself in the water of grace. Share the love Jesus wants so desperately for every one to know. And when life gets rough, when life seems unfair, when those struggles come... Think of two simple gifts one is grateful for, and say to oneself, "Jesus, I Trust in You."

Good friends care for each other, Close friends understand each other, but TRUE FRIENDS stay forever, beyond words, beyond distance, beyond time.

I got to pick this special boy up from school one afternoon! It was the best feeling having him run into my arms to give me the tightest hug!! :)

And then I had the honor of being her Godmother!! Yup... God is good!!

Oh... and to be able to run again!! :)

These guys carried the American flag for the entire 76 miles for all our Veterans.

As I was running... I just kept thanking Jesus.. for healing me, for giving me the opportunity to run again. It's really like a second gift at life! And it's a beautiful life!!

8 runners, 19 legs (exchanges), 9hrs, 58mins, 76 miles, 21st place, and 1 beautiful, perfect day!!

Even though seasons cause things to die... it still can be a beautiful process, and lots can be learned from this season.

Then when I get this... while having a rough week at work... it's pretty much the best thing ever, especially when Joe happens to be your Godson. :)
