Spring cleaning

Three posts in three days... what!?!  I know crazy, huh! But these last days I've had off work, and actually they weren't completely packed with other activities and appointments. So I finally was able to take down my Christmas tree and decorations! Woohoo! I know, right, Jan 30th, and I finally take it down. Yikes! But then the sun was shining, the weather was warming, and so what else would that mean but... spring cleaning mode!! I know, I am a little early. But I was on a role, and when I put Christmas all away, and started vacuuming and dusting... I just kept going! And wanted to change some of my decorations in my house. I've been debating quite a bit about selling my house, and buying one closer to work, to downtown, to midtown because I am there so much.  And love all it has to offer, but after going through pros and cons in my head, I decided that it's not the right time to move for me. So... I decided to change some things in my house instead. Just simple things, like maybe changing out some of my decorations that I've had for many years. Plus, I ordered these beautiful prints from Gracelaced, someone I follow on Instagram, and I was just so excited to hang them up in my house.  So I wanted to share with you some of my "spring cleaning" that I've done over the last few days! :)

These are the beautiful watercolor prints that became my inspiration! :)

First room.... my living room....

This was my living room last spring... dark colors.

So this last spring... I wanted some brightness and found this awesome orange couch!! :)

Then I went to Walmart, to get picture frames, and ran into these awesome BRIGHT pillows!! Fell in love!!

And new curtains! Away with the black!!!

Final product!! Just a few changes, and makes such a difference!!

Second room... spare bedroom....

This was before... (if anyone wants my old bedspread, let me know) :)

I had shelves with all my shot glasses above the desk.. I collect them from all my travels. I was dumb, and forgot to take a picture... so just imagine!

After... my favorite is the pictures above the bed!! New bedspread from Target! Was going for a fresh and bright feeling.

Faith, Hope, & Love... frames are a find from Walmart!

New curtains.. again away with the black!!  :)

Soft and sheer... another Walmart find! (and I'm not a Walmart shopper.. but glad I checked them out!)

Shot glasses away... new design area to inspire my Shutterfly scrap booking, and paying bills (let's be real here).
This was another print I got from Gracelaced! And the greatest of these is Love!

Third Room.... Dining room....

These blinds... ugly!! A friend inspired me that I can take them down!! Thanks Laura!! :)

A must have for All Girls!! :)

And they are down.. into dumpster they go!!

So I thought that I could attach the brackets in the same places as the blinds were. However... AFTER I put them up... I realized the curtains wouldn't be covering the sides (the brackets were too inward)... so down they went, and redo!

So here you can tell that the brackets are outside of the frame of the door. Way better. And notice I have a double rod bracket. These curtains I found block light, heat, and cold... awesome buy from Target!

And drum-roll please... My new CURTAINS!!!
I am in LOVE! Red to match my kitchen. Orange to match my living room! Tan to match my walls.
So perfect!!

I just can't believe huge difference this little change made.... I wish I would have updated this when I first moved in.
Oh well, live and learn.

And the sun was shining by the time I finished!

And one more little part... This was the last print I ordered from Gracelaced!  It's my favorite I think... "You don't have to be Blooming to be Growing." Such true words... We are constantly changing and growing... but things don't always have to be all daisies and roses to be growing, learning. Spring is the perfect time to understand that even more. Flowers, trees... they slowly blossom into the beauty that God created them to be. But they don't just automatically become beautiful on the first day of spring. They have to grow into that beauty, by being loved and cared for. We are the same... we are constantly growing into the beautiful person that God created us to be... by embracing the love and care God gives us each and everyday!
